SYNOPSIS:

IN THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC, A CHINESE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AND A CENTRAL AFRICAN LABORER ARE ASSIGNED TO CONSTRUCT A SPARKLING NEW BANK. A LOOMING CIVIL WAR, POVERTY, THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, ATTEMPTED SUICIDE… UNEXPECTED TWISTS THREATEN THEIR PLANS FOR A BETTER LIFE.

EAT BITTER started its festival adventure with our World Premiere in March 2023 at CPH:DOX (Denmark). Since then we have been selected and screened for Visions du Reel (Switzerland), Hot Docs (Canada), Atlanta Film Festival (US), Doc Edge (New Zealand). We are also selected for Encounters (South Africa), Shanghai International Film Fest (China), FIDADOC (Morocco), Melbourne International Film Festival (Australia).  Eat Bitter will also be screened during Visioni Dal Mondo (Italy), Cinema d'Afrique (Switzerland), Black August (USA), Le Grand Bivouac Film Festival (France), DMZ (South Korea), Ecrans Noirs (Cameroon), Afrikamera (Germany), Buffalo International Film Festival (US) and London International Pan African Film Festival (UK).
